Congress 2018 – Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts

We are pleased to announce that abstract submissions are open for the 2018 congress of the Southern African Society for Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine. We will be joining with the Ruminant Veterinary Association of South Africa (RuVASA) to have our annual congress at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, South Africa from 18-20 June 2018. Registration for the congress is due to open in the coming months.

SASVEPM welcomes all abstract submissions within the broader field of veterinary epidemiology and preventive medicine including disease surveillance, outbreak description, control, policy, public health and diagnostics, as our members have a wide base of interest. All are encouraged to submit abstracts in order to share their work with colleagues in the SASVEPM community.

SASVEPM has a small number of sponsorships available for those presenting their work at the congress who are currently post-graduate students or veterinarians who performed their compulsory community service (CCS) year in 2017 or 2018. Those who wish to be considered for sponsorship by the society should submit a short motivation letter and proof of their status (e.g. a copy of their student card or SAVC registration certificate) with their abstract.

Please submit your abstracts to the SASVEPM executive committee (ExCo) through email to Krpasha Govindasamy (krpasha@gmail.com or krpasha.govindasamy@gauteng.gov.za ). The deadline for abstract submission is 1 April 2018.
