Layout and Referencing requirements<\/h3>\n

1. SUBMISSIONS<\/p>\n

Full papers must be submitted by e-mail to Dr Lesley van Helden (lesley.vanhelden@gmail.com or lesleyvh@elsenburg.com) as a Word document attachment.<\/div>\n

2. PRESENTING AUTHOR<\/p>\n

Unless otherwise stated, it is expected that the first named author will present the paper but if this is not the case then it is essential that the author who is expected to present the paper at the conference is indicated clearly in the paper, by underlining their name. Any change to the presenting author must be notified as soon as possible, and the committee reserves the right to withdraw papers under these circumstances.<\/div>\n

3. TITLE<\/p>\n

THE TITLE SHOULD BE IN CAPITALS AND BOLD<\/b><\/p>\n

4. AUTHORS<\/p>\n

Authors should be indicated as shown below:-<\/p>\n

Author, A. B., Author, C. D. & Author, E. F.<\/p>\n

5. CONTACT DETAILS<\/p>\n

It is essential that you supply full contact details of the corresponding author.<\/div>\n

Please specify the following:-<\/p>\n

. Contact author’s name (also the name of the proposed speaker if different from the contact author).
\n. Contact author’s telephone number.
\n. Contact author’s e-mail address.<\/p>\n

6. MAIN HEADINGS<\/p>\n

Headings of each section should include the following \u2013 SUMMARY, INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS and DISCUSSION and these heading should be CAPITALISED and justified left with a line open above and below each heading. Sub-headings can be done in normal case and indented with a line above the sub-heading but no open line immediately below it. The use of additional headings and sub-headings is left to the discretion of the authors.<\/div>\n

7. TABLES and FIGURES<\/p>\n

Captions to tables must be above the said table, while captions for figures must be below the figure. The format for the Table and Figure captions must be as follows.<\/div>\n

Note that the format of the tables may be edited by SASVEPM in order for consistency to be present within the proceedings booklet.<\/div>\n

8. REFERENCES<\/p>\n

The reference format that SASVEPM generally uses is the format which the Journal of the South African Veterinary Society made use of in years gone by. Please contact the President or Secretary of the current SASVEPM exco to get a detailed guideline for this style. For those authors using Reference Manager software the exco has also got the JSAVA journal style which can be uploaded into Reference Manager. The SASVEPM exco are sensitive however to the fact that some members will not be comfortable using referencing software \u2013 please contact us if there are difficulties or requests regarding referencing systems contrary to what we have laid out here.In general though the in text references are indicated numerically with the reference list included at the end of the submission with the first author surname being in ascending alphabetical order. Listed references at the end of the paper can be detailed as indicated below.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
